Duties and responsibilities: Works under the direction of the Director of Communications or Dispatch Supervisor .
 Assist with answering emergency and non-emergency phone calls .
 Coordinate all ambulance transports and emergencies .
 Must portray a positive, courteous, professional and helpful image at all times .
Responsible for contacting emergency services such as police and fire or delegating these responsibilities to the call taker .
 Take transport information for future dates. Make sure that transports do not conflict with each other .
 Make phone calls to facilities if there is any change or discrepancy in the transport schedule .
 Assist with entering trips that may be scheduled through fax or email .
 Primarily responsible for all occurrences related to dispatching ambulance and command vehicles .
 Assist with training at the discretion of the Dispatch Supervisor .
 Dispatch both ambulance and wheelchair divisions at the discretion of the Dispatch Supervisor .
Responsible for knowing and implementing dispatch related policy and procedure .
 Responsible for checking and maintaining email communications during each shift .
 All occurrences outside of your normal daily duties should be secondary to adequately performing your job .
 The general appearance of the dispatch center should be neat and clean. Cleaning duties are, but are not limited to collection and removal of all garbage, sweeping and mopping floors and washing and wiping of all surfaces and equipment.

Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
Minimum 6 months dispatch experience
 Prefer Ohio certified EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, EMD or related medical experience and terminology



Reflection do you think you would like to become one? why? why not? i wouldn't like becoming an ambulance dispatcher, im not so good at answering calls or keeping up with people. i also want to get more salary .
